AUGUST TOURISM MALAYSIA EVENTS

16-17 Aug 2014 : Port Dickson International Triathlon 2014, Negeri Sembilan

This triathlon consists of a combination of 3 events namely running, swimming and cycling. More than 1,000 participants from all over the world is expected to compete. This event will be held in the resort beach town of Port Dickson.

16 Aug 2014 : Hari Raya Open House Celebration

Join the celebration as Malaysian Muslim end their fasting month. Relatives and friends are invited to many open houses where they will be treated with various traditional food and delicacies. 

This year's event will be held in Kuantan, Pahang.

15 Aug 2014 : Sandakan Memorial Day

This event is held to honour the 2,400 heroes who died when they were forced to march from Sandakan to Ranau, a distance of 240km.

31 August 2014 : Merdeka Celebration

This day commemorates Malaysia's 57th year of independence or 'Merdeka' in Malay Language. See the open air concert on the eve of Merdeka day on 30 August. The colourful parade will be held on the morning of the Merdeka Day. The Merdeka day celebration is held in every major city in Malaysia.

SEPT TOURISM MALAYSIA EVENTS 2014

12-14 Sept 2014 : Royal Pahang Billfish International Challenge

Anglers will be competing for the biggest fish in this tropical rain forest of Rompin, Johor. This "catch and release" fishing event will have many international participants with attractive cash prizes to be won.

12-14 Sept 2014 : Sarawak Regatta

Paddlers will be racing using their longboats in Kuching. Try to appreciate the colourful design and decoration of the longboats while you are here.


16 Sept 2014 : Malaysia Day Celebration

This day commemorates Sabah and Sarawak joining Peninsular Malaysia as a nation of Malaysia. This is the 4th year where Malaysia Day will be celebrated in full scale and has been declared a public holiday throughout Malaysia.

19 Sept 2014 : Lantern Festival

12 Oct 2014 : Standard Chartered KL Marathon

This marathon event held at Dataran Merdeka is a must for you if you are into running. It has been held annually since 2009. Register and come early for this event.

19 Oct 2014 : 27th Mt. Kinabalu International Climbathon

This event is one of "The World’s Toughest Mountain Race" where participants will scale 21km to the peak of Kinabalu mountain and descend in 3 hours. Remember to visit Poring Hot Spring and Kinabalu National Park if you have the time to spare.
