Talang Satang National Park


Talang Satang is the first marine park to be established in Sarawak. It was declared as a national park in 1999 to conserve the Green turtles population that come to the islands in this park during the season from May to October every year. This marine park consists of four islands. They are Pulau Satang Besar, Pulau Satang Kecil, Pulau Talang-Talang Besar, Pulau Talang-Talang Kecil.

This park is about 30 minutes boat ride away from Damai Beach and covers an area of about 19,000 hectares. The park is divided into "Core Areas" and "Complementary Areas". The Core Areas consists of the public appreciation zones, conservation and research zones. The visitors are allowed into the public appreciation zones whereas the other zones are strictly for research purposes where no visitors are allowed to enter.

Scuba diving, boating and fishing are allowed in the Complementary Areas.

No accommodation is available hence only day trip tour is allowed.


Getting Here

Get the permission from the National Park and Wildlife Office before coming here. Take a 30 minutes boat ride from Damai Beach.Joining a tour package is another good option as all the arrangement will be taken care of.
