4 January 2014 : Visit Malaysia Year 2014 Launch

This day marked the grand launch of VMY 2014. The Tourism Ministry is expecting 28 million visitors to visit Malaysia this year. Many activities have been planned for this purpose.

13-18 January 2014 : Royal Langkawi International Regatta

Get to know the famous yachtsmen from various countries competing in Langkawi Island.


17 January 2014 : Thaipusam

Held annually at Batu Caves, this religious festival for the Hindus attracts many visitors to this cave.

31 Jan - 1 Feb 2014 : Chinese New Year Open House Celebration

Join the many open houses that will be welcoming all visitors during the Chinese New Year. Look out for the dates and venues of the open houses that are usually hosted by the ministers and political parties. The National level celebration will be held on the 8 Feb 2014 in Taiping, Perak.


19-23 Feb 2014: Pasir Gudang World Kites Festival

Enjoy the Malaysia Events 2014 kite flying competition and shows from over 30 participating countries during the monsoon season. Venue is at Pasir Gudang, Johor.

Organized by Malaysia Nature Society, this annual event at Tanjung Tuan, Port Dickson in Negeri Sembilan is a good time for family outing.

28-30 Mar 2014 : FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP "Petronas Malaysian Grand Prix" 2014

This year's Formula One is held in Sepang during the tropical heat of the day. Come and see the excitement and roaring sound of the world class cars from Ferari, BMW, Mercedes, etc.

25-27 April 2014 : 21st Regatta Lepa Semporna – Water Festival

Held in Semporna in the state of Sabah, this Malaysia Events 2014 water festival will include a competition of the most beautiful traditional sailboats. Tug of war, kayak race and boat racing will also be held as part of the festival during this 2 days of fun and excitement. Semporna is the gateway to the world's best dive sites which include the world renowned Sipadan.

Apr 26 - Apr 28, 2014 Labuan International Sea Challenge (Malaysia Water Festival 2014)

Participants from around the globe are invited to join the kayak competition, boat tug-of-war competition, game fishing, boat race and cross channel swimming during this time of fun in the duty free island of Labuan.

2-4 May 2014 : Sabah Fest 2014

Held in Kota Kinabalu in Sabah, this Malaysia Events 2014 will feature the cultures and traditions of the various ethnic groups in Sabah through music, dance, fashion and food. The annual Harvest Festival will be held after this festival.

9-11 May 2014 : Borneo Jazz Festival

This annual event is organized by the Secretariat of Miri International Jazz Festival, Sarawak Tourism Board. This is one of the leading music festival in this region and is held in Miri, Sarawak.

22-24 May 2014: Colours of 1Malaysia 2014

Colours of Malaysia Festival will give you an opportunity to learn about the Malaysian people and the diverse cultures. This annual event brings all the heritage and culture of Malaysians from all states. Various delicacies of the different ethnic groups of Malaysia will be featured here as well. Tentatively, the event may be held in Dataran Merdeka, pending confirmation from the organiser.

28-31 May 2014: Kelantan International Kite Fest

If you are in Kelantan, head for Pantai Geting in Tumpat and see how the experts from all over the world fly the kites of various sizes during this time of the year.

30 May - 31 May 2014: Tadau Keamatan Celebration 2014

This harvest festival is celebrated by the Kadazan Dusun in Sabah. This annual festival will showcase the traditional costumes and games schedule to be held in Penampang, Sabah.

20-22 June 2014: Rainforest World Music Festival 2014

Visit Sarawak on the island of Borneo go to see the living museum known as Sarawak Cultural Village. Musicians from around the world will gather here to celebrate a fusion of nature, culture and ethnic music. If you have the time, head for Bako National Park near Kuching and you will not regret it.
