Shah Alam Lake Gardens
Shah Alam Lake Gardens is one of the favourite retreat of the residents in the vicinity in the evenings and during the
weekends. It is a man-made lake with beautiful landscape in the middle of the city centre of Shah Alam. The lake is
divided into three sections namely the east, the west and the central. The east section is called Tasik Damai, the west
section is called Tasik Permai and the middle section is called Tasik Indah. All the 3 sections are surrounded by beautiful
gardens that are ideal for family outing and picnic.
The total area of this recreation park is 43 hectares with well built raised platform at certain sections of the lake for you
to walk and see the tortoise, fish and other fresh water habitat in the surrounding area. If you are fortunate, you will
be able to see peacock, forest chicken, goose and stork that are reared here.

Facilities in Shah Alam Lake Gardens
There are a number of facilities that are available within the vicinity of the lake that cater for both the young and the
old. They include a water theme park called Wet World Shah Alam, a floating seafood restaurant that serves Malaysian cuisine,
children playgounds, benches and kayak for rent facility. This recreation park also hosts international events such as
the annual International Orchid Exhibition and the International Boat Show.
Water Theme Park
The Wet World Shah Alam water theme park has been in operation since its opening in year 1996. It has become an ideal place
for both children and parents as well as anyone who is young at heart to enjoy the various rides that are available in
this park. Rides include the Fountain Of Youth, the Giant Slide, Neptune Challenge, Lighthouse Escape, Atlantis City,
Cascading Waterfall and Enclosed Tube Slides.

One of the key attraction of the water world is the water coaster called Monsoon Buster. It is reputed to be the longest
uphill water coaster in the world and the first in Asia with a length of 225m. It is propelled upward by water jets.
Children witll enjoy the kiddy pool, roped bridge and the yellow submarine.

The water park is closed during Wednesdays except when it is a public or school holidays.
Entrance fee is RM10 for height above 135 cm and RM8 for height above 85 cm.
Kayak

The kayaks available for rent for use on the lake

If you enjoy doing kayaking, there are many kayaks that are available for rent for a fee of less than RM10 per hour. Life
jacket is provided and instructor will teach you how to go about kayaking in the lake.
Getting Here
Take RapidKL bus number 63 or 338 from Kuala Lumpur and stop at the bus station near Maybank building in Shah Alam city
centre. Take a walk towards the PKNS building and you will see the lake within the vicinity.
The other way is to take the KTM Komuter train and disembark at Shah Alam Station. From here, take a taxi and you will
reach the park in approximately 5-10 minutes time.
