Teluk Chempedak

Teluk Chempedak beach is approximately 5km away from the town of Kuantan. If you are coming from the town centre, go towardsthe east direction to Jalan Teluk Sisik. Go all the way to the end and you will reach Jalan Teluk Chempedak. You will reacha dead end where a MacDonald Restaurant and Hyatt Regency Hotel are located. Park your car and walk towards the beach.

This is one of the main beach that locals go to during the weekends and after office hours to unwind and for a time of leisure with family members. This beach is an enclosed bay and is a good place for water sports activities such asswimming, jet-skiing, surfing or sun-bathe. Kite flying during the windy days is a definite thing to do for children of allages. During the monsoon season from November to March, do be careful with the sea as the waves can be quite rough. Hence,it is not recommended for you to swim here during this time.

Facilities

Toilet facility is provided for your convenience after your time at the beach. If you need to fill your empty stomach, thereare a few food stalls that serve a variety of food and beverages.

Other shops within the vicinity of the beach

One of a good and reasonably priced shop that you can go at Teluk Chempedak beach is known as Song Fatt shop. The owner is very friendly and sell goods such as kites, drinks, fruits, souvenir and tit-bits. This shop is located at the left hand side of the beach where the raised platform that leads you to another beach.

Other restaurants are opened until after midnight during the weekends. MacDonald restaurant is just located by beach.

Platform

A platform was recently constructed from Chempedak Beach to another beach. You will discover many huge stones as you walktowards this beach. At times, you may be able to see groups of students doing their study on the rocks here. The sand hereis darker in colour compared to the sand at Chempedak Beach. Notice the wild life such as monitor lizards and the macaques monkeys as you stroll along the forest.

The calm and beautiful Chempedak Beach. Notice the huge stones which creates a splashing sound as the waves move towards them.

Another side of the beach.

Other attraction that you can go while in Kuantan include the Kuantan River Cruise that takes you around the mangrove swamps, fishermen villages and a panoramic view of the capital town of Pahang.
