Tourism in Malaysia - Hop On Hop Off Bus Service

Tourism in Malaysia has recently being boosted with the introduction of Kuala Lumpur Hop On-Hop Off Bus where you will be able to hop on and off the specially designed buses for unlimited times. You just need to pay once and the ticket purchased will be valid for 24 hours.

The double decker tour buses are equipped with state of the art facilities such as the 8-channel multi language pre recorded tour commentary of the city as they move around the different parts of the city. There are 3 monitor screens provided for your viewing and the facilities are disabled-friendly as well.

There are altogether 22 stops that you can hop on or hop off the bus. If you have the time, why not sit through the entire journey of the bus and listen to the commentary in your own language. It will take you 45 minutes to go though the tour of Kuala Lumpur without getting down the bus.

Once you are familiar with the places of interest, you can then plan where to get down and visit the many attractions in the city. Make sure that you wait at the bus stops which have the hop on-hop off logo as the buses will make their stop here.



Schedule and Price of Tickets

Schedule : 8:30am to 8:30pm at 30 minutes interval

You have to be patient in waiting as punctuality is affected by the condition of the traffic in the city.

Price of Tickets

The tickets can be purchased on the bus, travel agents, hotels and agents that display the hop on-hop off bus logo.

Adult: RM38 per person
Group of more than 5 adults : RM32 per person
Children age 5 and above : RM17 per person
Students : RM17 per person
Senior Citizens : RM17 per person
Disabled persons : RM17 per person

Children below 5 years old do not have to pay.

For Malaysians with MyKad holders, the ticket is priced at RM19 per person during the school holidays.

The buses will go through the major parts of the city. Some of the places of interest that you can visit as you stop by the various bus stops are:

  • Bus Stop No. 1 Visit Petronas Twin Tower, KLCC and KLCC Park.
  • Bus Stop No. 2 Visit Malaysia Tourism Centre and get some brochures on Tourism in Malaysia.
  • Bus Stop No. 5 Visit Craft Culture Complex and Karyaneka.
  • Bus Stop No. 6 Shop all you want at Starhill, Lot 10, Sungai Wang Plaza and Berjaya Times Square.
  • Bus Stop No. 8 Visit Kuala Lumpur Tower, one of the modern landmarks of Kuala Lumpur.
  • Bus Stop No. 9 Get your souvenir at Central Market. Use your bargaining skill to bargain at Chinatown KL.
  • Bus Stop No. 10 Stop by the National Palace.
  • Bus Stop No. 12 Find out more about Malaysia history at the National Museum.
  • Bus Stop No. 13 Visit the national Monument, Asean Sculpture Park and the Parliament Building.
  • Bus Stop No. 14 Enjoy the parks in the city. Orchid Garden, Bird Park, Butterfly Park and the National Planaterium is within walking distance.
  • Bus Stop No. 15 The National Mosque, Islamic Art Museum and Kuala Lumpur Railway Station.
  • Bus Stop No. 16 Visit the historical landmarks of Kuala Lumpur - Merdeka Square, Royal Selangor Club, Jamek Mosque, St. Mary's Church, National History Museum and Sultan Abdul Samad Building.
  • Bus Stop No. 21 National Art Gallery, National Library and Titiwangsa Lake Garden where the giant ferris wheel "Eye On Malaysia" is located.
