MASWings Airline 2007 Malaysia News New rural service airline called MASWings, a subsidiary of Malaysia Airlines will start operation on Oct 1, 2007. It will service the rural areas of Sabah, Sarawak and the Federal Territory Labuan. By Dec 1, it is expected that the airline will have a fleet of 13 aircrafts (Eight Fokker 50 and Five Twin Otter), providing 200 flights a week in Sabah and Sarawak. 2007 Malaysia News Effective 2 August 2007, travellers on KLM Royal Dutch Airlines can do a self service check-in at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). The kiosk will benefit those who do not need to check-in their luggage. The introduction of this service is to provide comfort and efficiency to passengers instead of having to queue up in the normal check-in counters. Currently there are 6 kiosks at the departure hall, 4 at the Satellite Building transfer desk and 2 at the Pan Pacific Hotel KLIA. Cathay Pacific, Malaysia Airlines, Singapore Airlines and Emirate Airlines will be using the kiosks by the end of the year.
