Mar 2008 Malaysia Travel News Air Asia airline, the no frills budget airline in Asia is now offering 50,000 free seats for domestic travel in Malaysia from 11 June to 25 Sept 2008. Booking can be done online and the booking period is from 18-21 Mar 2008. Take note that the free seats do not include surcharges, fees and airport taxes.
Mar 2008 Malaysia Travel News Firefly airline, a subsidiary of MAS will be offering free tickets during this coming KL MATTA FAIR from March 14-16, 2008. The free tickets are for travel from March 17 to October 25, 2008 to destinations such as Langkawi, Kota Baru, Kuantan, Kuala Terengganu, Penang and Subang. Thailand destinations are Phuket and Koh Samui. Besides that, the "Island Escape Package" are also offered from RM119/person. It include free flight tickets and 3D/2N stay at a selected hotels. Jan 2008 News Effective January 2008, travel agents will be charging at least 5% of the ticket price on bookings made for Malaysia Airlines tickets. The reason of the change is because MAS has withdrew the commission payment to agents under the new marketing plan. Tickets purchased from MAS 24-hour call centre or ticket offices will also be charged a fee of RM15 for domestic travel and RM30 for international travel. If you are traveling on your own, online bookings is the best option to avoid paying these service charge.
